All entry forms for CNBTA-hosted contests for the 2012 season -- Shamrock Twirl, Ontario Provincial Championships, Festival City Twirl and the National Championships -- have been posted to our forms  page. Last Sunday, Oct. 30, the CNBTA held its Annual General Meeting at the Puslinch Community Centre. At the meeting, several new representatives were named to the CNBTA Executive. This year's election was small and all positions were acclaimed.

We formally welcome Kevan Latrace into the position of CNBTA President, for a two year term. Kevan also served as interim President over the summer, and has formerly acted as the CNBTA National Judges Director. We are pleased to have Kevan in this role and are excited to see what new ideas he will bring to the table in this position.

We would like to thank Mimi Brazil for her decade of service to the CNBTA in the role of President, and are pleased she will be staying on in the newly created role of Past President. She has a wealth of knowlege to share and we are fortunate to continue to benefit from her expertise.

Wanda Grace will continue to serve as secretary, having been acclaimed to a two-year term.

Susan Franklyn has returned to the CNBTA Executive in the role of National Judges Director. Susan is a well-respected judge and coach, and formerly held this position for a decade. We look forward to her continued contributions to our organization as she continues to strengthen our judges program.

Amy Batarla, who was acclaimed as Athletes Rep in July, was formally accepted into her new role as well.

Thank you to all who came out and participated in our AGM. There was some great discussion and feedback. Minutes from the meeting will be distributed to the membership within the coming weeks.

Entry forms for Superstars Baton Club's two upcoming competitions – Winterfest on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 and Star Twirl on Sunday, March 4, 2012 – have been posted in our Forms section. Remember these are not CNBTA-hosted contests and any questions should be forwarded to the competition director.

Attention members! Your membership (as a judge/coach/athlete aged 18+/ or associate voting member) allows you the privilege of nominating and voting at this year's elections at our AGM on Sunday, Oct. 30.

The following positions are up for election:

• President
• Secretary
• National Judges Director

The CNBTA is gearing up for the 2011-2012 season. Many exciting opportunities and events are set to take place in the next few months.

We are proud to announce some significant changes to our CNBTA Executive. We welcome Kevan Latrace as the new CNBTA President. Kevan is a former World gold medallist, a respected judge and coach and we know he will be fantastic in this new role. He was formerly the CNBTA National Judges Director.

Former President Mimi Brazil has moved into the role of Past President. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Mimi in this capacity as she has led the CNBTA for over a decade and has a wealth of knowledge to share.

We are also pleased to welcome Amy Williams into the position of National Judges Director. Amy is a former competitive twirler and champion and has judged at the local, State, Regional, Provincial, National and World levels. She will continue in her role as head of the CNBTA's compliance committee. Outside of baton, Amy is the secretary of the Tourette Spectrum Disorder Association and is a member of the board of directors of VIP Mentors, Inc.

Lastly, we would like to welcome Amy Batarla as the new CNBTA Athletes' Rep, a position which she will assume after her acclamation is approved at our AGM in October. Amy has been twirling for many years and is a member of the CNBTA contingent to Switzerland in 2012, competing both individually and in dance twirl team. She is a member of Stars United Baton Club.

Both the President and National Judges Director are interim positions, and both will be up for election for the coming two-year terms at our AGM in October.
